This is under construction:

Ranking system

0 - 99 posts = White Belt
100 - 299 posts = Yellow Belt
300 - 599 posts = Orange Belt
600 - 999 posts = Green Belt
1000 - 1499 posts = Purple Belt
1500 - 2099 posts = Blue Belt
2100 - 2999 posts = Brown Belt
3000 - 5000 posts = Black Belt

5000 - 10000 posts = Special

10000+ posts = We'll worry about that when we get there. Smile

***Edit*** Moderators and Instructors will be given special user ranks.

Question...

Would you (as a member of the board) rather see your "real life" rank in this field? I can change it so that it is static to what belt you have actually achieved, if you want. The one I have in place right now is just for fun... kind of a "message forum's way" of telling people how much you have partaken in the forum. It means nothing, really... just fun. Smile

I'm open to suggestions from Instructors and Students, alike. For members of the board that are not students (we haven't crossed that bridge yet, with exception to me), I'll just make them go through the system I already have in place (see above post).

Thoughts?

I kind of like the real belt idea, but that would require maintenance every month for anyone who has been promoted. I guess that is a drawback of sorts. It would just be really weird seeing Master Circle post and have it say "Yellow Belt". Just my thoughts

I like the Real belt idea, sir. Cause lets say I move up to orange belts just in post, it might confuse people, therefore thinking I'm a higher rank then I am =/

I changed the belt ranking system to something a bit more realistic. The belts will just be there for "fun" and only be an indication on how much participation one has given to the site.

Should be a great incentive for people to post more. Wink

71 - 99 is considered Brown Belt in the forums. 100 to ??? will be black belt.

It was just a test run, to be honest. The way I see it, true martial arts students begin their training at 1st Dan. Wink

I plan on adding more belts, but we'll wait to cross that bridge when we get there. [Or until Master(s) Circle('s) tell me something else they might want].

I'm just kind-of wingin' it.

You're a true Brown Belt in my book, young Taz. Wink

I dont mind being a yellow (or white) belt Smile

I think whatever system we use should be easy for the admin to maintain and should represent forum usage, as that is what the rankings are for in my mind.
