Our Admin, Leo, will not be on until everything at this home is settled with. I spoke to him on MSN, and he said
[14:19] Taz.: Did you get hit by Ike?
[14:22] Leo: we got "hammered" :S
[14:22] Leo: my whole community is in shambles, and I don't have electricity, water, part of my roof, fence, or internet at home
So.. Yeah. Wish him luck. _________________ I'm most likely not going to be continue martial arts. I guess I was getting kind of bored... I may come back, but I may not...

| My house didn't have power for a few days. Luckily I haven't been in it for a few weeks. The tree damage to cars at Ohio State was pretty heavy though. |

Whew! I'm back in the saddle!
I got my administrator at work to "unblock" this site since it's MA related (and not something stupid).
I'm glad to be back and it's really nice to be getting back to normalcy down here in Houston. It was a heck of a ride, and I apologize for sending Ike your way.
R,

Taz,
I know I haven't been in a class with you for quite awhile with my schedule being all messed up, but you will be very missed if you choose to not come back. I'm sure you will make a wise decision for yourself and we'll always be here if you change your mind. I hope that either way things go well for you. _________________ Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans

Thank you Sir. I'm just not sure if I wish to keep doing martial arts. I just can't keep up with the training. I'm slow at the learning part. It annoys me that it seems other's past test with flying color's and I don't. Mostly it's my fault. I'm rather ashamed of myself to be true... _________________ I'm most likely not going to be continue martial arts. I guess I was getting kind of bored... I may come back, but I may not...

Taz,
I know it can be frustrating some times, but try not to worry about it taking awhile. Everyone is different when it comes to learning this stuff, some do it quickly, others a little more slowly, but that is not the point. A huge part of the martial spirit (or doing the "do" in Tang Soo Do) is a willingness to keep after things even when they are hard, especially when they are hard. Maybe you have seen this somewhere else, but some people say a black belt is just a white belt who never quit. I think there is a lot of truth to that. It helps us grow when we do things that challenge us. I hope you'll think about these things. It may still be that martial arts are not for you right now and that your challenges lie elsewhere, I would just hate to see you go because you don't feel like you are "getting it" quickly enough, because that has very little to do with being a good martial artist. I hope that doesn't sound like lecturing, I just wanted to share some of my thoughts and feelings with you.
