Sweet! It's going to be hard to top the first one, though. _________________ - Leo

I recently saw a new Donnie Yen movie called Ip Man. It has yet to be released in the states, but I was able to get a subtitled import. Ip Man was the wing chung master who introduced Bruce Lee to martial arts. This is the first of what producers say will be three movies covering his life. This one is set in Japanese occupied China prior to the second world war. The fight choreography is very different from most movies, there is extensive use of hands and relatively little kicking. Wing Chung emphasizes hand technique in close, if you have ever seen someone working on a kung-fu dummy (the post with "limbs" coming off in different angles) imagine an art focused on that style. Sammo Hyung, the guy from martial law, did the choreography and is widely regarding as one of the real experts on wing chung. Anyway, it might be a good thing to tide you over for right now. My next acquisition will probably be Kill Zone (aka Sha Po Lang), another Donnie Yen movie where he actually fights with Sammo. _________________ Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans

I heard from some of my British friends about this Ong Bak sequel...here's hoping it is one of those rare cases where the 2nd film can live up to the first
Jason let me borrow Ip Man, and I recommend it. It inspired me to build a "wooden dummy" of my own. I hope to complete it some time this summer. It will not be per the wing chun specs. they are highly specific. I hope to develop one that suits some of our style of techs and movement.
Once I begin the dummy, I will post pics and reports of the progress.
Oh yeah, see Ip Man! _________________
