Mark your calendars for April 18. The very, very long-awaited Jet Li - Jackie Chan collaboration film is coming out that day. It is called the Forbidden Kingdom and I, for one, cannot wait.

To catch the trailer or otherwise geek out on it, check it out! Maybe we can put together a dojang outing for it? Just an idea _________________ Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans

I didn't even know that was coming, dude!
I'm so there. I haven't gone to the theater in a long time, but this might be worth it. Great trailor, too! Thanks for that! _________________ Tang Soo!

Alright! Let's hear it? Who went and saw it and what did you think?
I'm just going to give my opinion of the movie right now (just got back from watching it, about an hour ago)...
I personally loved it! Jet and Jackie worked very well together. I can see where some might find the storyline a bit "cheesy," but it goes hand-in-hand with Chinese folklore (if you're into that type of thing).
Here, in the Houston area, there's a lot of different cultures. I wasn't surprised to see as many different faces as I did see at the theater tonight. (My wife was, but remember... she's originally from Delaware, OH). Not a person in the audience was displeased with this movie. There was even applause when it was over.
This was well-worth the 18 bucks for the two tickets we got. We talked about the movie, the whole drive home.
2 very strong thumbs up from me... but, I'm a sucker for these types of flicks.
Anyone else go? _________________ Tang Soo!

I'm shocked that no one has replied, yet. No one go? This movie was well worth the price of admission.
Oh wait... there was testing this weekend, huh? _________________ Tang Soo!

Sorry Leo, been a little busy
I saw it Sunday and was very impressed. I read a review that compared it with Willow from the 80s. I think the comparison is perfect. The fights between Jet Li and Jackie Chan were amazing, I've never seen a fight like the one in the temple. There were a few parts that were a little campy, but I tried to view it as primarily being aimed toward a younger audience (it was pg13 afterall). If you suspend the criticisms related to that I do not see how you could come away without loving this movie.
I don't think I would say it is my favorite martial arts movie (that would probably be fearless, but maybe hero or fists of legend), but it is sooo different from those others that I think it deserves its own category. I really enjoyed how the story was symetrical for Jet Li, for Jackie Chan for Sparrow and even for the boy (come on, a hero named Jason???? ) Anyway, I loved it I'll see it again, and probably soon. _________________ Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans

Heck, it's cool, sir! I know you've been busy. You're review pretty much nails it. I agree with you on the "younger audience" thing. When it comes out on DVD, I'll be buying it and letting my daughter watch it.
I'd also like to add that I really love how they incorporate the ancient Chinese myth of "Sun Wu Kong" or The Monkey King in this movie. What a great job! At first I though "CHEESY!!!!" but at the end, I was like... "not bad."
Opening weekend netted 25 million for this movie. I guess others agree with us. _________________ Tang Soo!
