Today is Sol ahl, the celebration of the Chinese New Year, in Korea. There is no set date for this new year celebration, as it varies dependent on which cycle the calendar is on. Sol Ahl is, in my estimation, the second biggest national holiday celebration in Korea behind Cheu Sawk, the Korean Thanksgiving holiday.

This year happens to be the Year of the Rat, the 1st year in the 12 year cycle. Here are some links with good info.
