Good News
there is a new dvd version of fearless coming out with 41 more minutes of content including a present day scene with wushu applying for olympic recognition
Bad news
the us release was produced incorrectly with the longer unrated version not being included in the two disc set. you get two copies of the original version.
Universal studios is working on fixing this and has offered an exchange program for anyone who has the incorrect version. They expect it to be fixed in 1-4 weeks.

OK, I have seen the director's cut and it is much better than the theatrical version. The story is much more cohesive with considerably more philosophy in it. There is very little new fighting, but the movie benefits from adding story and context. I'd give the result a solid A, and it is now my favorite martial arts film without question.
