|
|
This recipe came to us via Jon Stone.
CAPELLA's Dak Kal Bi Recipe
Chicken (1lb, cut into bite-sized pieces or slightly larger)
Cabbage (half to whole head, roughly chopped)
Two stalks of leeks (or equivalent quantity of spring onions, roughly chopped)
Onions (two small, sweet, roughly chopped)
Garlic (2 spoons, prediced, or eqivalent diced cloves)
2.5T soy sauce
2T sugar
5T gochujang (from Asian grocery)
Black pepper (light)
Dduk (rice cakes... from Asian grocery)
Combine all except cabbage and mix thoroughly. Add cabbage and mix well. Cook mixture in appropriate amount of oil.
*Chicken mix and cabbage may be layered in a container for cooking later.
*With rice and side dishes, this recipe can serve 4-6.
Let us know if you try it! I'll try to remember to take pictures of the process next time we make this dish. |

I really enjoy this recipe. It is one of my personal favorite Korean Dishes and, as far as I know, impossible to get at a restaurant in Columbus (I would be happy if someone could prove me wrong here...)
Something to try too is exchanging the 2 TBS of Sugar with an equal amount of Honey. _________________
